Saturday July 31 – Goodbye July…. See you Next year!

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Half way through summer.  Sounds sad… but it’s NOT!  It just means we’re that much closer to our Annual Fall Festival!  Pumpkin Cannons, Pig Races, Corn Cob Blasters!!  Seriously… I can hardly wait!!  I guess it’s best that we enjoy what’s left of the summer and make the most of it.  What does that mean?  Well, still time to pick Raspberries and Red Currants.  With the cooler evenings we’ll be seeing a lot more of our ever bearing plants – both Strawberries and Raspberries.   Our Summer Festival Runs 6 days a week for the remainder of the Summer.  From 10am – 4pm you can enjoy the great outdoors, some fresh air, a beautiful play area, a pirate ship, zip lines, giant sandbox, animal visits, train rides and so much more!  Admission is $5.00 / person, but be sure to take advantage of our SEASON PASS option.  For $25/person you can play 6 days a week for the remainder of the summer, and visit us every weekend of our Fall Festival!  It’s a combo pass and it’s a deal!

A quick reminder that this is the Holiday Weekend.  We’ll be open Sat – Mon from 9am – 5pm.  Starting Tuesday our August Hours begin.
FARM MARKET Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm, Weekends 9am – 5pm
PLAY YARD (SUMMER FESTIVAL) Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm

See you at the farm!

Better sit down for this one!  CORN IS HERE!  Yes! Ontario corn! Niagara Peaches! and we are in the peak season of Pick Your Own Raspberries!  We also have mountains of Red and Black Currants & Gooseberries!
I spent a good amount of the day playing in the pirate ship.  In fact, I was considering moving into it, perhaps build myself a sweet little Pad? Sounds like a good plan to me.

Summer festival will be rockin’ this weekend and our Market tables will be filled with the best of the season!  Visit team Clarence and Cassandra in Aurora, or Alvin and Melissa in Newmarket on Saturday morning.
Sunday morning you’ll find Melissa B in Uxbridge.  We love our staff! and they love me.  I mean, who wouldn’t?  After all I am Roy Good-Looking.

Friday July 9 – Don’t Worry, Pick Gooseberries!

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Here’s a little song I wrote, you might want to sing it note by note, Don’t worry…. PICK GOOSEBERRIES!  Ok, So maybe I didn’t write it…. Maybe Bobby McFerrin did.  You have to admit it though, it’s a bit catchy when you replace Happy with Gooseberries because they are basically the same thing!!

Wanna do some picking but the heat is bringing you down?  Well, that’s why we’re open so early and so late.  The best and most comfortable picking in the heat can be done early in the morning or between 6 – 8pm at night! It’s a little secret that you all know now. WOO HOO!!!

See yah at the farm

Good Morning Farm Friends!

Our remote Strawberry location in the field is now closed for the Season.  Hard to believe a month has already passed!!  There are still a few berries to pick, so if you’re willing to work hard for them we will direct you to the field from our main Farm Market.  Our Raspberries are coming on strong!!  Some Currants ready, and Gooseberries should be arriving later this week.

A reminder that our Summer Fun Festival (the play yard) is now open 6 days a week – CLOSED on Mondays, although our Farm Market is open 7 days a week !!
Be sure to check out our new Pirate Ship, “The Black Pumpkin!”  It was loved and enjoyed by many kids this past weekend.

July 2 – Another Great Day at BF!!

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Yesterday was Awesome!!! Gotta love Canada Day!  Thanks to everyone that came out.  We’re hoping for a great weekend as well!  Today you can visit us at the farm 8am – 8pm, or at the STOUFFVILLE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL from 9am – 5pm.  Berries seem to be winding down for the season…. after 6 beautiful weeks.  That being said, we’ll still be picking those Summer Berries for another week or 2.

Our Summer Festival is now officially open for the Season.  Hours are Tuesday – Sunday from 10am – 4pm.   The play area is closed on Monday but the farm market will remain open!

As of Monday, we move from the Berry Field hut to our main store.  The signs will direct you there!

Hope to see you at the farm this weekend!  Gonna go take some photos of our resident owl and post them for you soon!
